Comedy otome game Cupid Parasite lands on Switch this November

    Game News

Otomate’s “divine romantic comedy” otome game Cupid Parasite is set for release in the west this November, Idea Factory International announced this morning. It’s coming to Nintendo Switch on November 2 for North America, and November 5 for Europe (and, presumably, Australia and New Zealand, given its recent Australian Classification Board rating), with both physical and digital releases.

Cupid Parasite centres on the Cupid Corporation, a New York-based marriage agency known for its style and success rate. A big part of that success is Lynette Mirror, the company’s top bridal advisor—and also, secretly, the Goddess of Love, Cupid. When she meets her biggest challenge yet in the romantically hopeless “Parasite 5”, she decides to go pull out the big guns: a matchmaking reality TV show.

Naturally, hilarity and romance ensue, with these infamous five also serving as the game’s love interests. In classic otome fashion, choices you make affect your romance levels with potential partners and your shot at the true ending, and there’s also a matchmaking questionnaire to determine which route you land on. There’s also a handy flow chart to help track progress towards different endings and conveniently explore different branches, and a New Game + feature that lets you manually select a character route.

Idea Factory International also unveiled a Limited Edition, which will be available to pre-order through the IFI Online Stores from October 4. It includes:

    • Nintendo Switch Game (with reversible cover sleeve)
    • Steel Game Case
    • “The Parasite’s Guide to Los York” Hardcover Artbook
    • Keychain Set
    • Collector’s Box
    • Radio Los York Presents: Pillow Talk (2-disc Audio Drama + OP/ED themes)
    • Exclusive Trading Card

Cupid Parasite is one of a handful of Otomate games getting their western release in the near future. IFI also has the Genpei War-set Birushanka Senki on the way (release date TBA), while Aksys Games is publishing Dairoku: Agents of Sakuratani in December, Variable Barricade in February, and Kimi wa Yukima ni Koinegau, Lover Pretend, and Paradigm Paradox sometime after that.
