Last week, I published my review of Onion Games’ Black Bird, finding it to be “one of the most enthralling shoot ’em ups I’ve played in a long time.” That’s in part due to solid shoot ’em up gameplay and a simple but compelling to scoring system, and in part due to the surreal atmosphere and minimalist storytelling that work to deliver something that’s by turns funny, shocking, unnerving, and incredibly thought-provoking.
