Little Hope, Supermassive’s new horror game, launches this Halloween

    Game News

Supermassive Games’ next horror adventure is set to launch just in time for Halloween. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 30, publisher Bandai Namco announced today.

Little Hope is the second installment in Supermassive’s Dark Pictures Anthology, following last year’s Man of Medan. It continues the interactive drama approach that Supermassive’s been refining since 2015’s Until Dawn, with a very cinematic structure and presentation that branches according to player choices throughout the story. As well as a single-player “theatrical cut”, Little Hope will offer a two-player online shared story and a couch co-op “movie night” mode for up to five players.

Here’s the synopsis for the game:

“Trapped by a mysterious fog in the abandoned town of Little Hope, four college students and their professor search desperately for a means of escape whilst visions from the town’s gruesome and sinister past haunt them from the shadows. In order to stay alive, they must uncover the mysteries behind these dark apparitions before evil forces drag each of their souls to hell!”

Bandai Namco also unveiled a Collector’s Edition for Little Hope and a Limited Edition Dark Pictures Anthology: Volume 1 box set. The Collector’s Edition—which is exclusive to the Bandai Namco store—comes with a replica of Mary’s creepy 1692 ragdoll, a Dark Pictures cloth map, two map pins, and a Steelbook with 4 disc slots. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Volume 1 comes with both Little Hope and Man of Medan, as well as the map, pins, and Steelbook (but no ragdoll).

Pre-orders for any version of Little Hope will also come with early access to the “Curator’s Cut”, which adds new scenes, characters, choices, and outcomes to the theatrical cut. Pre-ordering through the Bandai Namco store will also get you a digital soundtrack, composed by Jason Graves.
