This Japanese cover of Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’ is amazing

    Music

I can’t get enough of this gorgeous Japanese cover of Doja Cat’s song “Say So”, by a singer called Rainych. I’m clearly not alone in this, with the song now sitting at over two million views on YouTube and catching the attention of Doja Cat herself.

In the video description, Rainych says that she’s “been looping Doja Cat’s say so from the very first day hearing. The song and Ms. Doja’s vocal is so adorable ! I fell in love and thought that’d be cute too in Japanese ☺️”. She wasn’t wrong— Rainych’s lovely voice gives the song a smoother, cuter feel than the (already very cute) original, and the Japanese lyrics (translated by Datenko) are a natural fit.

Doja Cat herself clearly agrees, too: while livestreaming, someone shared the cover with her, and her reaction is just too damn cute:

The original “Say So” is a great song in its own right, and Rainych’s cover is easily on the same level. It’s available to stream and download on a number of different platforms, too, including Spotify, YouTube Music, Deezer, and Apple Music. You can also support Rainych on Patreon and Ko-fi.

I know I’m going to be having this cover on loop for a while.
