Sony unveils three gaming headsets as part of INZONE game gear brand

    Tech News

Earlier this week, Sony lifted the curtain on a new brand of gaming gear with three new 3D audio gaming headsets: the INZONE H3, INZONE H7, and INZONE H9.

Each of the headsets is equipped with Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming, which “boosts spatial awareness, enabling the player to precisely hear footsteps and movement,” with the option of optimising the effect based on your ear shape using a smartphone app. They more expensive H7 and H9 models are also designed to be able to authentically reproduced extremely high- and low-frequency sounds thanks to the shape of their diaphragms, while all three feature ducts to optimise low-frequency sounds.

The wireless H9 and H7 offer 32 hours and 40 hours of battery life respectively, with a 10 minute quick charge for up to an hour of use, while the cheaper H3 is wired, working through either USB or 3.5mm audio jack. All three models are designed to work with either PlayStation 5 or PC, with settings controlled either through the PS5 dashboard or the INZONE Hub PC software. In terms of comfort, all three have soft earpads shaped to minimise pressure on the ears, and a padded headband.

The H9—the most expensive of the three—also comes with noise-cancelling features, with multiple noise-cancelling microphones. There’s also the option of an Ambient Sound Mode, which apparently ensures that you can still hear important ambient sounds, like phone calls and doorbells, while using the headset.

All three headsets will be available in New Zealand from late July, priced at NZD $199.95 for the INZONE H3, $399.95 for the INZONE H7, and $499.95 for the INZONE H9.

Here’s an overview of key features of the INZONE headsets, from Sony’s announcement:
